dear you,

Social networking has quickly become apart of everyday lives. A whole new mode of communication evolved with the advent of Friendster in 2002 for the typical Internet user...you. You were now able to keep in touch with long lost buddies, find new people, even possibly a date on Saturday night. Many social networking sites (SNSs) were created with the realization of the desire for fast, easy communication.

But now chatters have many options where they want to start conversing. Figuring out what to do where can be overwhelming. If you're wondering what all the fuss is about, or want to join a SNS, this site was created for you. This site focuses on the most popular and up-and-coming sites for now. On "all things social" you can read up on the history of each SNSs, browse over turorials on how to sign up and find friends, read tips for the advanced user, peruse the latest SNS news, and see what is featured this week on the site. If you are looking for more friends to add to your posse, "peeps" are suggested for you to follow on each site.

Now onto the sites featured so far. The ever-popular MySpace and Facebook dominate the SNS realm with full profile features with other applications. Friendster is the grandparent of all others, so I had to include a tutorial for them. Those three SNSs are very similar in their features. Meanwhile, Twitter is a fairly recent addition in the SNS world. Twitter is used for quick, short, easy comments to fly back and forth between people. Plinky is very new. Plinky is an SNS for SNSs. In other words, Plinky is a conversation starter that can be integrated into other SNSs such as Facebook, your blog, even Twitter.

So, what's next? Explore around. Sign up for one or five SNSs and start chatting away! Reconnect with old friends, find people in your town, plan a party. Have fun!
